Carrots become cheaper in Ukraine: what will happen to prices next
Kyiv • UNN
Ukrainian farmers are lowering prices for carrots due to the deterioration of quality in storage. The price has fallen by 10% and amounts to 25-32 UAH/kg, but, despite this, it is three times higher than last year.

The price of carrots in Ukrainian markets has begun to decline noticeably and, according to experts, may continue to fall. This is due to the fact that farmers are actively selling off stocks of vegetables from storage, EastFruit analysts said, UNN writes.
Details
This week, Ukrainian farmers are offering carrots at an average of 10% cheaper than at the end of last week. Now its price is 25-32 UAH/kg ($0.60-0.77/kg).
Due to the fairly warm winter, the quality of products in the refrigerators of small farms, as indicated, is rapidly deteriorating, which forces farmers to sell off existing stocks. Therefore, not all products that go on sale are "standard". Because of this, as noted, sellers of high-quality carrots suffer, because they cannot keep prices at the previous level.
Despite the decrease in the price of carrots, compared to mid-March 2024, the price of the vegetable has tripled. However, most market participants do not rule out the possibility of further price reductions, which is due to relatively low demand.
