British Foreign Secretary confirms diplomatic contacts with the HTS rebel group in Syria. Britain will allocate 50 million pounds of aid to Syrians and seeks to protect chemical weapons stockpiles.
Britain maintains "diplomatic contacts" with the rebel group in Syria that overthrew the regime of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. However, HTS remains a banned organization. This was stated by British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Sky News reports, UNN writes.

The minister made a statement announcing that the UK would provide £50 million in international aid to Syrians in their "time of need.
HTS (Hayat Tahrir al-Sham - ed.) remains a banned organization, but we can maintain diplomatic contacts, and so we have diplomatic contacts, as you would expect,
Lemmy also added that the UK wants to see a "representative and inclusive government" in Syria that will run the country. In addition, he explained a number of other goals why there is diplomatic contact between the parties.
We want to ensure that chemical weapons stockpiles are secure and not used. And we want to ensure that the violence does not continue. And so for all of these reasons, using all the channels at our disposal, including diplomatic channels and, of course, intelligence channels, we are committed to dealing with the CWC where necessary,
