Border guards detained five men while they were trying to illegally cross the border with Hungary across the Tisa River. Each paid intermediaries between $8,000 and $11,000 for a “safe” crossing on a small rubber boat.
Border guards of the Mukachevo detachment detained five men who tried to illegally get to Hungary via the Tisa River, paying intermediaries from 8 to 11 thousand dollars. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, according to UNN.
While patrolling, the patrol noticed a group of people moving quickly toward the border with Hungary. The offenders were caught when they were trying to get into a boat. The boat was too small for all those who wanted to get in, so some of the men even tried to jump into the cold river to swim across on their own,

It is noted that border guards helped the men get out of the water. They were detained and taken to the unit, where they were able to warm up and dry their clothes. The violators were residents of Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Cherkasy and Zakarpattia regions.
In the course of clarifying the circumstances, the offenders said that each of them paid unknown persons from USD 8 to 11 thousand for assistance in illegal border crossing.
The smugglers assured the men that it would be a safe way, and after receiving the full amount of money, they said they would have to cross the Tisza. Then an unidentified person brought a two-seater rubber boat and pointed in which direction the river was located.
Reports on administrative offenses under Art. 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses “Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine” were drawn up against the detainees.
The circle of persons involved in organizing the men's illegal trip is currently being established.
