Law enforcers eliminated two more schemes of mobilization evasion by men of military age in Zakarpattia region. As a result of complex measures, the head of the district military commissariat and the deputy commander of a terrorist defense brigade were served suspicion notices.

According to the National Police investigators, the two defendants acted separately, but used similar "schemes": in exchange for bribes, they offered conscripts to avoid conscription on the basis of forged documents about "poor" health.

To do this, officials provided potential recruits with fictitious medical reports from the medical examination board on the presence of serious illnesses.

Later, the evaders used the forgery to deregister from the military and could illegally leave Ukraine.

The cost of such "services" ranged from 4 thousand US dollars per client.

Based on the evidence obtained, both officials are suspected (according to the crimes committed) under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

▪️ Part 3 of Article 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official);

▪️ part 3 of Article 369-2 (abuse of influence).

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The offenders face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
