Beyoncé has surpassed Jay-Z in the number of Grammy nominations for her album Cowboy Carter. The singer received 11 new nominations, including Best Album and Song of the Year.

Singer Beyoncé has become the most nominated artist in the history of the Grammys, overtaking her husband Jay-Z, UNN reports with reference to the BBC.

According to media reports, the artists had 88 nominations each, but now Beyoncé has taken the lead thanks to her album Cowboy Carter.

She also leads in the number of nominations for next year's award. As it became known on Friday, she is nominated in 11 categories, including Best Album, Best Country Album and Song of the Year (Texas Hold 'Em).
