Bad weather kills 10 people in Ukraine, injures 23 - Interior Ministry

According to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, the bad weather in Ukraine has left 10 dead and 23 injured, including two children. Rescue operations are ongoing, roads are being cleared, and the affected regions are responding to power outages.

As of 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, snowfall and strong winds in Ukraine killed 10 people were killed. Another 23 people were injured, including children.  This was reported by Interior Minister Igor Klimenko, UNN reports .

As a result of weather conditions, 10 people died - in Odesa, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Mykolaiv regions and in Kyiv. 23 people were injured, including 2 children. At the state and regional levels, there are headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the of the bad weather

Odesa region: SES units were called to help 254 times. 849 vehicles were towed away, including 24 buses. vehicles, including 24 buses and 17 emergency vehicles. Assistance was provided to 2498 people, including 162 children. 5 people died due to the weather, and 15 others were were injured. Traffic on the M-05 and M-15 highways is now in reverse mode, Klymenko said.

Mykolaiv region: rescuers responded to calls 66 times, towed 144 vehicles. Traffic remains difficult on some road sections. In In Mykolaiv region, 2 people were killed and 2 more injured.

According to Klymenko, 8 roads in Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad regions remain closed to traffic. 411 settlements in 11 regions are without electricity. In total 1530 vehicles have been towed from the snowdrifts.
