The UK will allocate £450 million to Ukraine for military aid. The package includes drones, radar systems, and increased funding for repairs.

Participants of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine (in the "Ramstein" format) announced commitments for military assistance to Ukraine for more than 21 billion euros, which is a "record" increase in military funding for the country, co-chair of the meeting, British Defense Minister John Healey, said at a press conference following the meeting on Friday, UNN writes.
New pledges of military assistance announced today through the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine amount to more than 21 billion euros, a record increase in military funding for Ukraine.
He also announced the UK's contribution.
"We are also increasing this frontline combat support from the UK, we will spend £4.5 billion (5.185 billion euros) this year on military support to Ukraine, our highest level, and today I am announcing £350 million (403 million euros) to support Ukraine's frontline fighters, a package that includes radar systems, anti-tank mines and hundreds and thousands of new drones, as well as an increase in funding of £150 million (172.85 million euros) for repairs and maintenance," Healey said.
In total, according to the UK Ministry of Defense, military support worth £450 million (519 million euros) will be used to strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine, against the backdrop of the UK and Germany co-chairing the meeting of 50 countries in the "Ramstein" format, £350 million from the UK, and the rest of the funding, as stated, is provided by Norway through the UK-led International Fund for Ukraine.
"The UK is increasing its rapid military support to Ukraine in order to give them the strongest position to ensure lasting peace, as partners meet in Brussels for the 27th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine, co-chaired by the UK and Germany," the statement said.
"A new large package of military support will be provided by British and Ukrainian suppliers to help strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine as they continue to defend against Russian attacks," the UK Ministry of Defense said.
What the British aid package includes
The UK Ministry of Defense reported that the package includes £160 million (184.3 million euros) of UK funding for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment that the UK has already provided to Ukraine, a partnership between British companies and Ukrainian industry, supporting the UK economy and skilled jobs.
"Today's support also includes a new 'close combat' military aid package - with funding for radar systems, anti-tank mines and hundreds of thousands of drones - worth more than £250 million (288 million euros) using funding from the UK and Norway. The package is based on the work of the Drone Capability Coalition," the UK Ministry of Defense said.
This, as stated, will include highly maneuverable FPV drones for attacking targets and drones that can drop explosives on Russian positions.
"The work of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine is vital to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position and put pressure on Putin to force him to end this terrible war. We cannot jeopardize peace by forgetting about the war, so today's large package will increase support for Ukraine's frontline fighting. 2025 is a critical year for Ukraine. Our job as defense ministers is to give Ukrainian soldiers what they need," said UK Defense Secretary John Healey.
Addition
On April 10, the British Defense Secretary and his French counterpart, Minister Lecornu, chaired the first meeting of the 'coalition of the willing' at the level of defense ministers, bringing together 30 countries to advance force planning to support a lasting peace in Ukraine.
