At least 13 people have been killed and dozens injured in an explosion of a smelting furnace at a a nickel smelter in Indonesia, Sky News reports , UNNwrites.

It is noted that today at 5:30 a.m. in Indonesia, an explosion occurred in an industrial park on the island of Sulawesi during the repair of a furnace. About 38 people were taken to the hospital, some of them in critical condition.
At least five Chinese and eight Indonesian workers were killed when the furnace suddenly exploded while being repaired.

The explosion was so powerful that it destroyed the furnace and damaged parts of the building's side walls.
