After a drone attack on the "promsintez" plant in the Russian Federation, nitric acid spilled - Russian media

A ton of nitric acid spilled in the city of Chapayevsk, Samara region of Russia, after a UAV attack, while local authorities are hiding this fact, reported the Telegram channel ASTRA, UNN reports.

Details

"A ton of nitric acid spilled as a result of a UAV attack on the Promsintez plant for the production of explosives in Chapayevsk, Samara region. Local authorities hid this," ASTRA reported, citing sources.

As a result of the impact, as indicated, there was a leak of diluted nitric acid. It was neutralized with soda. In addition to the reservoir with diluted nitric acid, the impact, as reported, fell on two production shops - the roofs burned down there.

At the same time, according to local Telegram channels, the municipal authorities hid the fact of the leakage of nitric acid. Meanwhile, the strike and the subsequent fire at the enterprise have already been confirmed by satellite images.

Nitric acid is dangerous to humans and the environment even in diluted form: it corrodes tissues, its vapors are toxic, and the soil at the spill site burns out. This leads to the death of plants and microorganisms.

Recall

The strike on the Promsintez plant occurred in late March – early April 2025. As UNN reported, citing sources in the Security Service of Ukraine, this plant is one of the leading manufacturers of industrial explosives in Russia and the CIS.
