In one of the settlements of Sumy region, a local resident found a warhead of a Russian X-59 cruise missile weighing about 300 kilograms in the forest. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy region, UNN reports.

According to law enforcement officials, a local resident discovered a part of an enemy aircraft missile in a forest in one of the settlements of Sumy region. A mobile group of the Explosive Ordnance Department arrived at the scene.
The man told law enforcement officers that he saw a white object in the forest that looked like a bag from a distance, and thought that one of his fellow villagers had been brazen and had taken garbage into the forest. When he got closer, he realized that there was a large shell on the ground.
Police sappers found that the projectile was a warhead of a Russian X-59 cruise missile weighing about 300 kilograms.
"Apparently, the missile did not reach the target due to a technical malfunction, or it fell because it was damaged by Ukrainian air defense forces. The warhead will soon be destroyed at a special training ground," said Ihor Chernyak, head of the explosive service department of the Sumy regional police.
