A Russian citizen, identified as a former Wagner mercenary, was denied entry to Moldova and returned to the country of origin.
As a result of security measures taken, a Russian citizen identified as a former mercenary of the Wagner group who wanted to get to Transnistria was found at the Chisinau International Airport. This was reported by Point, according to UNN.
According to the testimony made during the security check, the 36-year-old man said that he was on a short visit to Moldova and was on his way to visit a friend who lives in the Transnistrian region,

Further investigation revealed that the "friend" had been waiting at the airport and had been evasive, trying to mislead the security authorities by hiding his acquaintance with him.
Based on the risk assessment and the current security protocol, the citizen of the Russian Federation was denied permission to cross the state border and was returned by air to the country of origin.
