As reported in the parliament, draft law No. 10060 proposes to improve the legal framework for the SAPO, in particular in terms of strengthening its autonomy and organizational independence.
The draft law is aimed at Strengthening the institutional autonomy of the SAPO, in particular, in order to: improve the procedure for selection of prosecutors and appointment to administrative positions in the SAPO; empowering the Head of the SAPO to regulate its own organizational structure; separate separate regulation of the disciplinary liability of SAPO prosecutors and defining provisions on accountability of the SAPO management (including performance evaluation and periodic external audit). performance evaluation and periodic external audit to be conducted by external experts with international experience).
As a reminder, on November 21, the Parliament passed two draft laws on anti-corruption agencies - NABU and NAPC - in the first reading. This is in line with the European integration requirements outlined in the European Commission's report.
