10-year-old boy dies of burns after a fire in a garage in Bolhrad region

In Odesa region, a 10-year-old boy died from burns sustained in a garage fire. The child set fire to hay, inhaled carbon monoxide and lost consciousness. Police are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy.
The police received a report that the child had been burned from paramedics. Officers of the territorial police unit preliminarily established that the 10-year-old boy was playing in the garage, where he set fire to hay that was drying indoors. The child inhaled carbon monoxide and lost consciousness, and the fire caused about 40% of his body burns. Unfortunately, the boy died at the scene before the arrival of paramedics. This was reported by the police, according to UNN.

At that time, the victim's parents were at work, and the minor was looked after by his 17-year-old brother, who left him unattended and slept in the house.
A family with three underage children is registered with the Children's Service as being in difficult life circumstances.
The issue of entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2, Clause 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with the note “accident” is currently being resolved.
