On the occasion of Christmas, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the Alekseenko family and handed them the keys to their new home. The house was built as part of the second wave of the Olena Zelenska Foundation's Address of Childhood project, UNN reports, citing the President of Ukraine.

Volodymyr and Olena Zelensky toured the house, which was fully equipped with appliances and furniture, and talked to the family.

"We wish you a happy holiday season. May Christmas bring you many gifts that you want. I wish you all to be well and warm here," the first lady said.

The Alekseenko family with ten foster children lived in a village near Kakhovka until 2022, where they had their own 100-square-meter house. However, due to the full-scale Russian invasion and occupation of the village, they were forced to leave their home and evacuate.

"Last year, as part of the first wave of the project, 14 large foster families from eight regions of Ukraine received new homes with the support of the Olena Zelenska Foundation. In the second wave, launched by the Foundation, it is planned to provide housing for 10 more such families. The Alekseenko family was the first of the second wave to receive a new home on Christmas Eve," the official online publication of the President of Ukraine said.
