On July 22, the world community draws attention to the health of the nervous system as part of World Brain Day, while mathematicians celebrate Pi Approximation Day. According to the new church calendar, Orthodox believers in Ukraine honor the memory of Mary Magdalene, Equal-to-the-Apostles, reports UNN.
World Brain Day
An important medical and scientific holiday established by the World Federation of Neurology. Its main goal is to raise public awareness about brain health, prevention of neurological diseases, and the importance of caring for one's nervous system.
Pi Approximation Day
A mathematical holiday. It is celebrated on July 22 because, in the European date format (22/7), this day forms a fraction that is the most popular approximate value of Pi (Archimedes' constant).

Commemoration Day of Mary Magdalene, Equal-to-the-Apostles
According to the new (New Julian) calendar, on July 22, one of the most famous women in the history of Christianity is honored - Mary Magdalene, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Among the people, this holiday was often called "Maria the Berry Picker." It was believed that on this day, women should not perform heavy work in the garden or field; instead, they traditionally went to the forest to pick berries.
For those who follow the old (Julian) calendar: on July 22, the memory of the Hieromartyr Pancratius and Bishop Cyril is honored. In folk tradition, the day was called "Pancratius and Cyril." By this time, in many regions, they began to harvest the first cucumbers, which were traditionally buried at the edge of the garden bed for a good future harvest, and tasted blueberries.
