Volkswagen, Porsche and Audi to switch to Tesla charging standard

Starting in 2025, the Volkswagen Group will switch to the NACS charging standard introduced by Tesla. Volkswagen is one of the latest car manufacturers to switch to the new charging standard.
Volkswagen Group has become the latest automaker to announce the transition to the North American Charging Standard (NACS). This was reported by UNN with reference to Techcrunch.

The Volkswagen Group has announced that from 2025, it will produce cars of all brands, including Audi and Porsche, with a built-in NACS charging port. The Group's own charging station network, Group Electrify America, has also announced plans to adopt the NACS standard.
Volkswagen is one of the latest car manufacturers to adopt the new charging standard. Ford started this trend in May 2023 when it announced that owners of electric vehicles will soon have access to approximately 12,000 chargers, initially through an adapter. Ford added that its next generation of electric vehicles will be integrated with the NACS charging port, which was developed and implemented by Tesla.
Other automakers such as GM, Rivian, Honda, Mercedes, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, and most recently Subaru have also made announcements about using the Tesla charging standard.
So far, Stellantis, the parent company of many brands such as Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, and Peugeot, has not announced the transition. Earlier, the company said it was evaluating the charging standard.
