United States President Joe Biden has announced that he is extending the state of emergency in the country due to the threat to national security, as well as the US position on the world stage and its economic development due to the growing external threats of malicious cyber activity. In this regard, the state of emergency is extended by presidential decree for another year after April 1, 2024.
Context
The first state of emergency in the United States related to external cyber threats was introduced on April 1, 2015, by the Barack Obama administration. Since then, it has been extended every year according to the standard procedure.
