A US delegation led by the vice president's wife will visit Greenland to inspect a military base and participate in dog sled races. The visit comes amid Trump's statements about the possible annexation of the island.
This week, a high-ranking delegation from the United States of America will visit Greenland. The visit includes a visit to the American military base. The trip will take place as President Donald Trump promotes the idea of annexing the island. This is reported by the Reuters agency, reports UNN.

It is noted that the delegation will be headed by the wife of the US Vice President Jay Dee Vance - Usha Vance. The delegation will also include White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Energy Minister Chris Wright.
Waltz and Wright plan to visit the Pituffik Space Base - an American military base in Greenland. The White House said they would receive briefings from American servicemen there.
According to the news agency, they will then join Ushe Vance to visit historical sites and participate in national dog sled races.
Brian Hughes, a representative of the White House National Security Council, said that the American delegation "is confident that this visit will provide an opportunity to develop partnerships that respect Greenland's self-determination and promote economic cooperation."
"This is a visit to learn more about Greenland, its culture, history and people, as well as to visit the dog sled race, which the United States is proud to sponsor, everything is simple and clear," Hughes added.
