Ukrainians in the US were mistakenly sent letters about the annulment of their status
Kyiv • UNN
Ukrainian citizens in the US received letters about the cancellation of humanitarian status. Later, the US Department of Homeland Security announced that it was a mistake and the program had not been canceled.

Several Ukrainian citizens who are in the United States under a humanitarian program received erroneous emails this week about the cancellation of their status. This was reported by Reuters, reports UNN.
Details
The letters stated that their humanitarian status had been revoked and demanded that they leave the country within seven days. Otherwise, it was noted, federal law enforcement agencies would take up the case.
If you do not immediately leave the territory of the United States, law enforcement measures may be taken against you that will lead to your deportation from the country. We repeat: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is revoking your humanitarian status. Do not try to stay in the United States.
However, the very next day, on Friday, a representative of the US Department of Homeland Security announced that these letters had been sent in error. According to him, the humanitarian program for Ukrainians, introduced in 2022 after the full-scale invasion of Russia, has not been canceled.
On the same day, the Department of Homeland Security sent a new message to the victims with apologies, stating that the previous order was sent in error, and the terms of the humanitarian status issued earlier remain unchanged.
It is not yet reported exactly how many Ukrainians received erroneous letters. However, the incident caused a wave of concern among the Ukrainian diaspora and public organizations that support refugees in the United States.
Recall
Trump said that the administration is currently analyzing the issue of the status of Ukrainians in the United States. A final decision on possible deportation will be made in the near future, despite differing opinions in Washington.
