The Embassy of Ukraine in Greece has demanded an investigation into the attack on the rally held by Ukrainians in the city of Mandra on the occasion of the Holodomor Remembrance Day and confirmed that a Ukrainian diplomat present at the event was physically injured by the attackers. This statement was published on the official website of the embassy, UNN reports.

The Embassy protested the aggressive actions and provocations against the participants of the Ukrainian community, noting that the attackers were members of the Greek Communist Party. 

The Embassy strongly condemns the shameful disruption of the commemorative event, which has a deep historical and emotional significance for the Ukrainian people. This provocation, which culminated in physical attacks - including an assault on a Ukrainian diplomat who was injured - is completely unacceptable and constitutes a flagrant violation of international norms protecting diplomatic personnel,

The Embassy called on Greece to ensure a proper investigation of the incident. 

It is important to protect the right of individuals and communities to commemorate historical tragedies without fear of intimidation or violence... We trust that the relevant Greek authorities will do everything necessary to respond to this serious incident and prevent similar provocations in the future,

The Ukrainian community of the Greek city of Mandra said that a large group of unidentified people with communist symbols aggressively disrupted their event on Holodomor Remembrance Day.

Ihor Posolenyk, a priest of the Ukrainian Church Community of St. Nicholas of the UGCC in Greece, reported this on Facebook.

According to him, the incident occurred in the town of Mandra, where Ukrainians had gathered from other settlements to the monument to Taras Shevchenko to hold commemorative events.

On Saturday, during a peaceful event dedicated to the Holodomor Remembrance Day in Ukraine, a group of aggressive individuals carrying communist flags and slogans attacked Ukrainians, including a significant number of women and children from Ukrainian schools and associations. According to the participants, the attackers, armed with communist symbols, blocked access to the monument and resorted to aggressive actions. They used insults and threats,
