The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine received a new text of the agreement on mineral resources from the United States and has already held the first round of consultations. Ukraine is determined to conclude a document that meets the interests of both parties.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine received a new text of the so-called agreement on mineral resources from the American side. One round of consultations with the United States has already taken place. The Ukrainian side will work with the American side to reach a mutually acceptable text for signing the agreement. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha during a joint briefing with his Lithuanian counterpart Kęstutis Budrys, reports UNN.
On March 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a new text of the so-called agreement on mineral resources from the American side through diplomatic channels. As you know, the Ukrainian side was ready to sign the previously developed framework agreement. Now we have received a proposal for development and, accordingly, a new text of the agreement
He noted that Ukraine has its own legislation regarding the processing of this type of documents.
Accordingly, the necessary procedures were carried out to start the internal state procedures. I also confirm that we have already started consultations with the American side regarding the text of the agreement, and one round of these consultations has already taken place. The Ukrainian side is determined to conclude a document that would meet the mutual national interests of both the United States and Ukraine
The Minister emphasized that Ukraine believes that the text of the agreement, which will provide for a further increased presence of powerful American business, is also a contribution to the security of Ukraine's infrastructure.
Therefore, this process will continue, and we will work with our American colleagues to reach a mutually acceptable text for signing
