Ukraine and Austria discuss nuclear safety and support for the Ukrainian energy sector

Ukrainian energy minister Galushchenko and Austrian ambassador Bencio met to discuss nuclear security and energy cooperation. They stressed global nuclear safety concerns, and Ukraine thanked Austria for funding the IAEA mission.
Energy Minister German Galushchenko discussed with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Arad Benchio issues of ensuring nuclear safety and supporting the energy sector. The results of their negotiations were reported by the Ministry of energy, writes UNN.
Details
It is noted that at the meeting, Galushchenko and Benchio discussed cooperation at the international level to ensure nuclear safety. In particular, they discussed the importance of the work of the Working Group "presidential formula for peace: radiation and nuclear safety", to which Austria is also involved.
The meeting also discussed deepening cooperation in renewable energy and the development of distributed generation.
This is not a question of russia's war against Ukraine, it is a question of global nuclear security. The Russians do not control the situation at the station, and at any moment a nuclear accident can occur there, the consequences of which will be felt not only by Ukraine and our neighbors, but also by many other European countries.
The Ukrainian minister also added that the invaders at the ZAES have already caused 8 blackouts.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the Ministry of energy thanked Austria for allocating 1 million euros to support the activities of the IAEA mission in Ukraine.
