Ukraine already has a detailed reform plan spanning thousands of pages for EU accession – Kachka

Ukraine has already prepared a comprehensive package of documents defining all the necessary steps for accession to the European Union. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka during the Ukraine-EU intergovernmental conference, reports UNN.

According to him, this is not just about political declarations, but about a specific list of laws, reforms, and institutional changes.

Today, a detailed work plan already exists. We have a National Program for the Adaptation of Legislation exceeding one thousand pages, roadmaps for the rule of law, democratic institutions, public administration reform, and an action plan for the protection of the rights of national minorities

– Kachka said.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that each of the documents contains clear tasks for the Ukrainian authorities.

It details very specifically which laws the Verkhovna Rada must pass, which decisions the government must make, which institutions must be created or reformed, and how all of this will work in practice. These are not general wishes, but effectively a technical assignment for completing the process of joining the European Union

– he explained.

According to Kachka, the opening of negotiation clusters triggers the mechanism for implementing the reforms that have already been prepared.

The opening of clusters does not create new requirements. It triggers the mechanism for fulfilling the tasks that have already been defined and agreed upon. It is this work that should lead Ukraine to full membership in the European Union

– the official emphasized.

He added that the successful implementation of roadmaps and legislative changes will be the main criterion for assessing Ukraine's readiness to join the EU.
