Trump's international campaigns at a standstill. Russia is not interested in visits from US envoys for peace negotiations - media

U.S. President Donald Trump, after loud statements about quick victories in international conflicts, is increasingly facing protracted crises without clear results. This refers to the war in Ukraine, the situation in the Gaza Strip, and the confrontation with Iran. The New York Times writes about this, reports UNN

Trump's quick victories have turned into protracted conflicts

As the publication notes, Trump has always preferred short and demonstrative military campaigns. In the White House, he even keeps models of B-2 bombers that participated in strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

However, now, according to the authors of the material, the U.S. President finds himself at a stage of political stagnation. His attempts to achieve quick solutions in wars and international crises have run into a complex reality.

Iran – a truce without a final result

After the announcement of a truce between the U.S. and Iran, Trump stated that hostilities would end only after the "full and safe" opening of the Strait of Hormuz. However, this did not happen.

The material notes that even a possible resumption of shipping does not solve key problems — the Iranian nuclear program and missile production. At the same time, according to expert estimates, Tehran expects to drag out negotiations for months or even years.

War in Ukraine – the "24 hours" promise did not work

The New York Times reminds that Trump previously stated his readiness to end the war between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours after returning to power.

However, more than a year after taking office, no peace agreement has been reached. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is already openly expressing fatigue from fruitless negotiations.

According to the publication, the Russian side is also no longer interested in periodic visits by Washington's special representatives and wants a formalized diplomatic process with permanent contacts.

Ukraine feels more confident

The article notes that Ukrainian long-range drones and missiles are increasingly hitting targets deep inside Russian territory, including energy infrastructure and military enterprises.

Also, British intelligence estimates the losses of the Russian army at nearly half a million soldiers killed.

Former American diplomat Thomas Graham stated that the situation at the front has changed, and economic problems in Russia are only intensifying.

"The Kremlin is already thinking about how to present this as a victory," he noted.

Gaza remains without stabilization

Despite Trump's large-scale plans for the post-war reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, the situation in the region remains unstable.

Hamas has not laid down its arms, the humanitarian crisis continues, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced the expansion of the Israeli army's control over most of the enclave.

Trump's problem – the lack of systematic diplomacy

Analysts interviewed by the NYT believe that the Trump administration relies too much on phone calls and individual visits by special representatives, while real peace agreements require constant diplomatic work.

"Foreign policy is a long and complex process. Loud statements do not replace systematic work," said Richard Fontaine, head of the Center for a New American Security.

At the same time, former U.S. National Security Advisor to President Joe Biden, Jake Sullivan, stated that Trump "tried to bomb Iran, block Iran, and pressure Iran, but ultimately got stuck in a dead end."
