The United States is ready to be "very realistic" and "patient" in the process of ensuring that the Cuban people "can experience prosperity, security, and the best life in the future." This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, reports UNN.

Rubio insisted that the country's socialist economic model does not work and that the Cuban government is more interested in preserving power than in carrying out reforms.
But he said that "we will continue to talk to them about what changes they can make," because it concerns U.S. national security.
"It is a failed state. But I have never set any timelines for what changes will look like or when they will occur," Rubio said.
On Tuesday, a plane delivered food and hygiene kits to Cuba as part of U.S. efforts to provide direct aid to residents.
