To mark the anniversary of Independence, the NBU issued modified banknotes with the slogan 'Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes
The National Bank of Ukraine issued modified banknotes with the slogan "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!" This was reported by the press service of the NBU, UNN reports.
Details
Reportedly, the modified banknotes will be introduced gradually. Starting from August 08, 500 and 1000 hryvnia denominations will be introduced, starting from August 23, 50 hryvnia denominations, and in the following years, 20, 100, and 200 hryvnia denominations.
The NBU will support banks and IT companies with modified banknotes from the date of their introduction into circulation for further issuance to customers.
As legal tender, the modified banknotes will be in circulation along with other banknotes of the corresponding denominations of previous years of issue and will be accepted at their face value by all individuals and legal entities without any restrictions throughout Ukraine for all types of payments and crediting accounts.
At the same time, citizens do not need to exchange old banknotes on purpose.
The modified banknotes will be issued as part of the planned issue to replace worn and damaged banknotes to ensure that cash circulation has the necessary amount of cash in the respective denominations and to improve the quality of cash in circulation.
The modified hryvnia banknotes will gradually replace the 2014-2019 banknotes that show signs of wear and tear.
