The Kremlin is once again spreading fakes about "Odesa May 2" and preparing rallies abroad - CCD

Russian propaganda traditionally intensifies one of its key fakes regarding the events in Odesa on May 2, using the theme of the tragedy for information attacks and provocations abroad. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the NSDC of Ukraine, according to UNN.

The CCD notes that under the guise of "honoring the memory of the victims," the Kremlin is preparing rallies near Ukrainian embassies in various countries around the world. These involve organized events with flower-laying, pro-Russian slogans, and pre-prepared "testimonies" for local media.

The Center emphasizes that this scenario is repeated every year, but an intensification is currently being observed.

Every year on May 2, the Russian propaganda machine activates one of its most cynical myths — "Nazi atrocities in Odesa"

- the CCD noted.

At the same time, the Center emphasizes that the real events of that day are being distorted. In particular, it is suppressed that pro-Russian militants attacked a peaceful "For a United Ukraine" march, after which they barricaded themselves in the House of Trade Unions and threw Molotov cocktails.

As a result of the confrontation, a fire broke out, claiming the lives of 48 people. Instead, Russian propaganda has for years promoted the narrative of "Ukrainian Nazis" who allegedly "burned peaceful citizens."

The CCD emphasizes that the goal of such information campaigns is not to honor memory, but to discredit Ukraine and provoke tension abroad.
