Isak Andik, the founder of the Mango brand, tragically died at the age of 71 as a result of a fall during a family walk.
Isak Andik, the founder of the famous Mango brand, died in an accident. The businessman's death was reported on the company's website, UNN reports.
"It is with deep regret that we announce the unexpected passing of Isaac Andick, our non-executive chairman and founder of Mango, following an accident this Saturday," the statement reads.
The company emphasized that "Mango continued to be the project that Isaac was committed to and would have been proud of.
The company did not provide any details of the tragedy. At the same time, Spanish media reported that the 71-year-old man died after falling while walking with several members of his family near Barcelona. Mango dates back to 1984, when Andik, who is of Turkish descent, opened his first store on Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona's famous shopping street, with the help of his older brother Nahman.
Mango has strengthened its position as one of the leading international fashion groups with a presence in more than 120 markets and 15,500 employees worldwide.
