The Eiffel Tower is closed due to a workers' strike on the 100th anniversary of Gustave Eiffel's death. Visitors are advised to postpone their plans.

The Eiffel Tower was closed to the public due to a strike by employees, UNN reports citing TF1 INFO.

The publication notes that today marks exactly 100 years since the death of the creator of this Parisian landmark, Gustave Eiffel, who died at the age of 91. The 330-meter metal structure located in the center of the French capital made the engineer famous.

It was planned that the Iron Lady, as the famous tower is called, would celebrate this anniversary. However, some employees of the facility went on strike this morning. The strikers' demands have not been disclosed.

Visitors to the Parisian landmark were asked to change their plans. "We invite you to postpone your visit and consult with the staff on our website before traveling," the tower's administration said in a statement.
