In 2025, the prices for vyshyvankas (embroidered shirts) range from hundreds to tens of thousands of hryvnias, depending on the material, embroidery technique, brand, and uniqueness of the design. The most expensive ones are antique and linen vyshyvankas.
Every year before Vyshyvanka Day, Ukrainians are increasingly starting to look for their ideal vyshyvanka. However, along with demand, prices are also rising. In 2025, prices for vyshyvankas in Ukraine range from several hundred hryvnias to several thousand, or even tens of thousands of hryvnias.
So why do prices for the same item of clothing vary so much? UNN looked into this material.
Current trends in prices for vyshyvankas in Ukraine
UNN analyzed prices for different segments of vyshyvankas in Ukraine. Thus, in the mass market category, women's vyshyvankas cost between UAH 700–1500, while in the middle price segment — from UAH 2000 to 8000. Premium products, which are created manually or to order, can reach 20–30 thousand hryvnias.
At the same time, men's vyshyvankas in the mass segment cost from UAH 700 to UAH 2400, in the middle — up to 6 thousand, and premium items — from 9 to 15 thousand hryvnias and above. Children's models start from UAH 200 (for example, T-shirts with embroidery elements) and reach UAH 4–5 thousand in the upper segment.
Traditionally, the demand for vyshyvankas increases on the eve of the May holidays, in particular Vyshyvanka Day. This year, various vyshyvankas are gaining popularity: from more authentic models with traditional cut to models with modern design, such as oversize style.

Factors influencing the formation of the cost of vyshyvankas
Primarily, the price of a vyshyvanka is influenced by the material from which it is made. For example, a vyshyvanka made of natural fabric, such as linen, will cost significantly more. After all, products made of this material are not only comfortable to wear, but also quite durable.
Also, the price of a vyshyvanka is affected by the complexity of the embroidery. Because embroidering complex patterns takes more time. In addition, it all depends on whether it is embroidered by hand or by machine. Importantly, if it is handmade, the price of the product will depend on the uniqueness of the pattern.
The price is also affected by the number of embroidered elements on the vyshyvanka. That is, the more patterns there are on the sleeves, collar, etc., the higher the cost of the product.
Also, when choosing a vyshyvanka, pay attention to the brand, because it is this factor that will shape the pricing policy of the product.
In addition, the price of a vyshyvanka depends on where it was made. For example, interestingly, vyshyvankas made in Ukraine may be more expensive than anywhere abroad.
Comparison of prices for different types of vyshyvankas
One of the most popular options in the middle and upper segments is vyshyvankas made of linen. Such products cost from 5,000 to 8,000 UAH. In particular, such vyshyvankas are most often chosen for торжествен events or as a gift.
From more budget options there is a cotton vyshyvanka. Its cost ranges from 1200 to 4500, it all depends on the type of ornament and embroidery technique. This option is most common for everyday wear.
A much more expensive option is a vyshyvanka embroidered by hand. This is influenced by the amount of time it takes to make, and it can take even several weeks. Handmade vyshyvankas cost from 5,500 to 14,600 UAH. Here you should also take into account the materials used, and the complexity and uniqueness of the pattern.
The most expensive, of course, are ancient vyshyvankas, because it is not just clothes, but a part of the cultural heritage. The price for such a vyshyvanka starts from 4200 UAH and can reach 28 000 UAH, and even more.
The impact of materials and embroidery techniques on the price of the product
As mentioned above, one of the most important factors that affect the cost of a vyshyvanka is the material. Linen vyshyvankas are the most high-quality and durable, so it is not surprising that they are more expensive compared to vyshyvankas made of other materials. Linen fabric has several advantages: it is natural, breathable, well preserved after wearing and does not cause allergies. At the same time, it is more difficult to work with linen fabric than with others. So it is precisely because of this that prices for vyshyvankas made of linen fabric are higher.
But vyshyvankas made of cotton fabric are softer and easier to care for. And even despite the fact that they are less durable than linen, they are great for everyday wear, because they are also comfortable. In addition, they are more affordable in price. Of course, there is an even cheaper option, in which vyshyvankas are made of synthetic or mixed fabrics. However, they are significantly inferior not only in quality, but also in comfortable wearing.
No less important is the embroidery technique. In particular, there are two of them. In vyshyvankas of more expensive segments, this is hand embroidery, which requires time, experience and attention to detail. The cost here depends on the technique itself — for example, " гладь ", " низь ", " білим по білому ". Often, craftswomen use these unique techniques, not repeating the same pattern, — which makes each thing unique.
There is also machine embroidery, which allows you to make vyshyvankas not only quickly, but also in large volumes. However, it is these vyshyvankas that do not have any individuality, as is the case with handmade products, so the price here is certainly lower.
The role of brand and design in determining the cost
A significant role in the price of a vyshyvanka, like any other clothing, is played by the brand. And here you can also overpay for the name of the brand. Designer vyshyvankas often combine traditions with modern fashion. Such products often use some interesting elements such as asymmetrical cut, unusual colors or combinations of fabrics, prints, etc. This increases the price, but at the same time attracts the attention of buyers.
Also, shirts from limited collections or авторські will be higher in price, because it is about the individuality of the product.
