The Cabinet of Ministers of Thailand has approved the cancellation of the 60-day visa-free regime for citizens of over 90 countries, returning to previous regulations that typically allowed stays of around 30 days. Speaking at Government House, Surasak stated that the Cabinet also agreed to cancel the possibility of multiple uses of visa exemptions under the current scheme and to return to the previous rules.

According to him, the relevant departments will be informed of the government's decision before it takes effect.

Surasak added that the Visa Policy Committee will review the rules for each country individually and determine which type of visa will be appropriate for a particular state, taking into account security and economic factors.

Following the changes, countries whose citizens could previously stay in Thailand without a visa for up to 60 days will return to the previous entry conditions. For most tourists, the visa-free stay period will once again be approximately 30 days.
