"Sunk" fortifications in the Odessa region - the military ignores criticism of the leadership of the National Park "Tuzlovsky estuaries"
Kyiv • UNN
The management of the National Park "Tuzlovsky estuaries" criticizes the placement of fortifications on the sandy coast. The military, who determined the locations of tetrapods, avoid commenting on the feasibility of their location.
From time to time, photos of allegedly flooded tetrapods appear in social networks - fortifications that should protect the Odessa region from a possible landing of enemy troops on the Black Sea coast. Recently, the corresponding photos were published by the management of the National Park "Tuzlov estuaries" with criticism of the location of tetrapods that drown in the sand. But the military, which determines the locations of such tetrapods, avoids comments, Reports UNN.
The command of the operational group of the military "Danube" does not publish a public position on this issue, so it is difficult to determine how much criticism of the leadership of the National Park "Tuzlovsky estuaries" is objective. However, Ivan Rusev, an employee of the park, noted that during the placement of tetrapods, experts were not consulted.
A few months ago, these tetrapods were installed on the sand, but they simply did not take into account the opinion of experts in coastal science - where exactly should they be installed so that they are guaranteed to perform their function and the sea does not bury them
According to him, almost any coastal sea Strip and structures located within its borders are exposed to waves.
Waves combined with winds can move sandy coastlines and destroy beaches.
"And to prevent such troubles, as protection in some cases, unusual things were invented, called tetrapods, but it is simply pointless to install them "anywhere" without an expert opinion," Rusev said.
We will add that UNN a month ago appealed to the command of the operational group of the military "Danube" with a request to explain why such locations are defined for the placement of defensive structures. And while the editorial board is still waiting for a response from the military, the comment was provided in the Odessa regional administration. They replied that the enemy does not stop trying to attack the Odessa region. Therefore, the military gives instructions on where and how to build defensive structures.
"Defense Specialists, our military, determined, modeled and planned the order, means and location of fortifications in order to strengthen the borders of the state, including the Black Sea coast," the Odessa RMA noted.
Regarding the allegedly flooded tetrapods, the Odessa RMA noted that comments on this topic are beyond the competence of the administration, since the feasibility and location of fortifications is determined exclusively by the military.
However, we provided a photo showing the work with these fortifications, and they are not flooded.
