Spain to accept cruise ship with hantavirus outbreak on board after three deaths

Spain will accept the MV Hondius liner following the deaths of three people from hantavirus. Passengers will be examined and repatriated upon arrival in the Canary Islands.
Spain has confirmed that it will allow the cruise ship MV Hondius, which has experienced an outbreak of hantavirus on board, to dock at its ports. This was reported by the BBC with reference to the Spanish Ministry of Health, according to UNN.

The liner will depart from Cape Verde, where it is currently anchored, and will arrive in the Canary Islands in the coming days.
The exact port of arrival has not yet been determined. Upon arrival, the crew and passengers will undergo proper examination, receive necessary medical care, and be sent to their respective countries,

According to reports, three people have already died as a result of the infection on board.
The World Health Organization previously noted that the virus could have been transmitted in a rare way – from person to person. At the same time, the WHO emphasized that the risk of infection for the approximately 150 passengers remains low.
The vessel has been on its voyage for about a month and has covered more than six thousand miles since departing from Argentina.
Authorities are currently preparing to receive the passengers and ensure the necessary anti-epidemic measures upon arrival.
