In Rakhiv district of Transcarpathia, a 19-year-old conductor was detained red-handed while trying to smuggle a man who is liable for military service to Romania, the police of Transcarpathian region reported, according to UNN.
Officers of the Police Department No. 1 of the Uzhhorod District Police Department received operational information that a 19-year-old resident of Rakhiv district might be involved in smuggling men subject to mobilization across the state border of Ukraine outside official checkpoints,

It is noted that in order to expose and stop criminal activity, the police initiated a number of measures, which established that the offender was preparing to transfer another "client" to Romania.
In the course of controlling the crime, law enforcement officers caught a 19-year-old suspect red-handed on the outskirts of the village of Luh, Rakhiv district. He was trying to smuggle a man liable for military service across the "green border.
Police officers seized USD 2,000, which the offender received for facilitating the illegal crossing, and three cell phones from the scene.
The Transcarpathian was detained and placed in a temporary detention center. Investigators, under the procedural supervision of the Uzhhorod District Prosecutor's Office, classified his actions under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
