The State Border Guard Service reported that more than 40,000 Ukrainian citizens have returned through checkpoints from Russia and Belarus since the beginning of 2022. The only checkpoint in Sumy region was closed on August 6.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 40,000 Ukrainian citizens have returned to the country through checkpoints with Russia and Belarus.

This was reported by the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a telethon, reports the correspondent of UNN.

In total, since 2022, more than 40,000 Ukrainian citizens have returned to the territory of Ukraine through checkpoints with Russia and Belarus

He notes that it is difficult to say how Ukrainians can return from the territory of Russia or Belarus, as the issue of return depends more on "that" side. He also added that there were no cases where Russians wanted to enter the territory of Ukraine.

Since August 6th, the only checkpoint "Kolotyliv-Pokrovka" on the border with Russia has been closed in the Sumy region. This corridor was used by people to return to the territories controlled by Ukraine from the occupied territories.
