The government has adopted a resolution not to apply blackout schedules to consumers who use at least 80% of their own electricity. This stimulates energy autonomy of businesses and increases the country's energy resilience.

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution according to which blackout schedules will not be applied to consumers who use at least 80% of their own electricity. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting, UNN reports.

Details

He noted that in order to ensure an adequate level of preparation for the winter period, the state has introduced a package of programs and measures to accelerate the development of decentralized generation. The program includes lending to businesses and citizens for the creation of alternative energy, duty-free import of power equipment, simplification of bureaucratic procedures for launching generation plants, etc.

We continue this work on an ongoing basis. Today, we are adopting a resolution that will eliminate blackout schedules for consumers who use at least 80% of their own electricity

He added that in this way the state stimulates business energy autonomy, which is an important element of energy sustainability.

AddendumAddendum

The government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, said that the relevant amendments were made to the regulation on the specifics of electricity imports under the legal regime of martial law in Ukraine.
