The SBU exposed corrupt officials of the State Emergency Service in Ternopil on creating a threat to the security of infrastructure facilities through kickback schemes.
SBU eliminates corruption scheme in the main Department of the State Emergency Service in Ternopil region, which jeopardized the security of critical infrastructure facilities in the region. This was reported by the SBU office in Ternopil region, UNN reports.

Details
Under investigation the involvement of more than 10 SES officials in illegal activities. According to the investigation, they received up to 20% of the kickback from each contract for fire for fire protection services to enterprises.
For this purpose, the SES employees registered three private enterprises in their relative's name that perform firefighting services. Then, using their official powers, officials forced the entrepreneurs to sign contracts for the relevant services exclusively with companies under their control.
During 19 searches were conducted by law enforcement officers:
- documentation
- and draft records with evidence of illegal activities;
- bank cards to which the kickbacks were transferred;
- about 250 thousand UAH, probably obtained by criminal means.
One of the scheme participants - the chief inspector of the Emergency Prevention Department was served a notice of suspicion under Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official). The issue of serving a notice of suspicion to other persons is also being resolved.
