In Spain, the SBI and the local police searched the villa of the former Odesa military commissar Borisov

Spanish and Ukrainian law enforcement officers conducted searches in Spain of the former head of the Odesa regional TCC and Odesa joint venture.
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the Spanish police, conducted searches in the Spanish real estate of the former head of the Odesa Regional TCC and JV of Odesa. This is reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation, UNN reports.

The agency reminded that criminal proceedings were initiated against the former military commissar on several articles on the facts of illegal enrichment. The SBI detained the former official in July 2023, and the court placed him in custody.
The same month, the suspect was dismissed from military service.

During the investigation, among other things, it was found that he had purchased two real estate objects in the city of Marbella, Malaga province of the Kingdom of Spain.
In particular, in December 2022, he organized the purchase in the name of his mother of a house worth more than 4 million euros, with a total area of 857 square meters on a land plot of 1530 square meters.
Subsequently, in February 2023, he and his wife purchased an office space worth over 500 thousand euros with a total area of 223.9 square meters.
During the searches, documents certifying the right of ownership and disposal of the above property by his family members were seized. Based on the evidence collected and the SBI's request, the competent authority of the Kingdom of Spain seized the villa and office premises

As previously reported, during the pre-trial investigation, the Bureau collected a huge body of evidence of its own. However, for a full and impartial investigation, media reports were also studied.
The materials of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC), which also found signs of illicit enrichment of the former Odesa military commissar for more than UAH 188 million, will also be examined.
The former military commissar is suspected:
- in the acquisition by a person authorized to perform the functions of the state of assets whose value exceeds his/her legitimate income by more than 6500 tax-free minimum incomes (Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
- in failure to report for service on time without valid reasons by a serviceman committed under martial law (Part 5 of Art. 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
- in organizing the legalization of the proceeds of crime (part 3 of Article 27, part 3 of Article 209);
- in abuse of office and giving illegal instructions to subordinate employees on the need for a positive decision on the issue of avoiding conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine to persons designated by him for a monetary reward;

- in evading a serviceman from performing military service duties by deception committed under martial law (part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for a sentence of imprisonment for up to 12 years.
Based on the SBI investigation, the court seized the property, money and bank accounts of the former head of the Odesa regional TCC and JV and his family members.
The previously seized property includes: land plots with a total area of more than 2 hectares in Odesa region; two houses in Odesa with a total area of more than 420 square meters, a household in Odesa with an area of 78.5 hectares, two apartments and 1/3 of an apartment in Odesa.
In addition, the seized cars are:
- Toyota Land Cruiser 2023;
- Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 2022;
- Mercedes-Benz EQV 2022;
- Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 2021;
- Porsche Macan GTS 2016;
- Audi A6 1999, etc.
