As a result of Russian attacks on April 15, several higher education institutions in Dnipro were damaged. This was reported on Telegram by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi, according to UNN.

Details

The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology was damaged.

As a result of the hit on the university building, the roof structures were completely destroyed, and the load-bearing walls and partitions of the student dormitory were partially damaged.

- Lisovyi stated.

The roof of the building of the Educational and Scientific Institute "Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture" was also damaged. The blast wave blew out windows and doors over an area of approximately 2500 m².

In addition, the National Technical University "Dnipro Polytechnic" was also damaged. All the aforementioned educational institutions are located close to each other.

The Minister of Education noted that as a result of the attack, two buildings of the "Dnipro Polytechnic" were damaged, one of which has national historical significance, and the other - local. The material and technical base was also affected, and two people were injured.

The targeted shelling of universities is an attempt to disrupt education, sow fear, and make young people doubt their future in Ukraine. This is a cynical attempt to strike at education as the basis for the country's development.

- Lisovyi's post reads.

The minister also added that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, more than 18% of educational institutions in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed. Of these, 422 were completely destroyed, and more than 4,000 were damaged.
