Putin issued another batch of statements about Russia's war against Ukraine - Center for Strategic Communications responded

Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin issued a new batch of statements, including about Russia’s war against Ukraine. The government’s Center for Strategic Communications responded, UNN reports.

In an interview with one of the Russian media outlets, Putin stated, in particular, that "we are always ready for dialogue, but only on the basis of the realities taking shape on the ground." Putin spoke of Ukraine’s proposals for peace as "exotic" and "unacceptable" to Moscow, but refused to clarify what he meant. Putin also commented on Ukrainian strikes against Russian infrastructure facilities, threatening that "you will get a response."

The Center for Strategic Communications’ response

"On August 22, the Kremlin dictator repeated familiar narratives about Ukraine’s "failure," Russia’s "response," and Kyiv’s alleged unwillingness to negotiate," the Center for Strategic Communications pointed out.

"Putin produced a new batch of fantasies: five claims that do not correspond to reality," the Center for Strategic Communications emphasized, dissecting the five main manipulations:

  • Fake No. 1: «Ukrainian strikes against Russia did not lead to any turning point.»

"In fact, Ukrainian long-range strikes forced Russia to redeploy air defense systems, restore damaged logistics facilities, and acknowledge the damage to its own infrastructure. Just days ago, Putin himself admitted that Ukrainian attacks were causing damage to Russia, although he attempted to downplay their effect," the Center for Strategic Communications noted.

    • Fake No. 2: «Kyiv has not gained and will never gain any advantage.»

"In fact, the aim of Ukrainian strikes is to weaken Russia’s military potential, logistics, and defense industry. The Ukrainian campaign has already forced Moscow to change its system for protecting strategic facilities and spend additional resources eliminating the consequences of the attacks," the Center for Strategic Communications pointed out.

      • Fake No. 3: «Ukraine provoked the situation itself and is now asking Russia for a way out of it.»

"In fact, it was Russia that launched the full-scale war against Ukraine in 2022. Attempts to shift responsibility onto Kyiv are one of the basic narratives of Kremlin propaganda, intended to justify the aggression," the Center for Strategic Communications emphasized.

        • Fake No. 4: «The massive strikes against Ukraine are a response to Zelenskyy’s "40-day campaign."»

"In fact, Russia has systematically attacked Ukrainian cities, energy infrastructure, and civilian infrastructure throughout the full-scale war. The latest massive strikes against Kyiv alone resulted in numerous civilian casualties and the destruction of residential buildings and social infrastructure facilities," the Center for Strategic Communications pointed out.

          • Fake No. 5: «Kyiv opened the "Pandora’s box" itself, and therefore is receiving strikes against its economy.»

"In fact, the Kremlin is trying to present deliberate terror against civilian infrastructure as supposedly a "legitimate response." This is informational cover for attacks that Russia has been carrying out for more than four years, despite numerous violations of international humanitarian law," the Center for Strategic Communications noted.
