Putin said that there are 240 prosthetics companies in Russia and this is not enough, UNN  reports with reference to Mediazona.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Russian soldiers who have lost limbs. The meeting took place on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at a Moscow prosthesis factory.

According to the Kremlin's website, more than five thousand prostheses have been made since 2022. However, the military said that there are not enough prosthetic centers in the regions-they have to travel to Moscow.

We now have 240 companies [producing prostheses]. Basically, there are thousands of people working, a lot of specialists, but not enough. You said there is a desperate shortage of them 

- Putin replied to the military.

The production of prostheses has increased in Ukraine: the number of enterprises has doubled in two years, and funding for prosthetic programs has also increased. The programs are available for civilians and the military.

At the same time, the military receive expanded opportunities for state-supported prosthetics and enjoy additional charitable support.
