He will follow in the footsteps of his father, the Prince of Wales, who also attended the private school in Berkshire, UK, where tuition fees are around £63,000 (about €73,000) per year.
Students begin their studies at the school at the age of 13, and Prince George turns 13 next month.
As the eldest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, George is second in the line of succession to the throne.
There had been speculation as to which school Prince George would attend after leaving Lambrook School in Berkshire, where he studied alongside his sister Charlotte and brother Louis.
Among the suggestions discussed, which appeared to focus on private rather than state schools, was Marlborough College, which his mother Catherine attended.
But a more traditional option was chosen, with the announcement that George will study at Eton College, a historic private educational institution founded in the 15th century, which has educated 20 British prime ministers.
