Prepared a double terrorist attack near the military recruitment center in Ternopil: a Russian agent couple detained

The SBU thwarted an attempt to blow up the military recruitment center in Ternopil by a Russian agent couple. The detainees planned two explosions, but were exposed at an early stage.
The Security Service thwarted another attempt by the Rashists to destabilize the socio-political situation in the western regions of Ukraine. As a result of a special operation, a Russian agent couple was detained, who were preparing two explosions in Ternopil at once. This is reported by the press service of the SBU, writes UNN.
Initially, the enemy planned to blow up a service car parked near the TCC, and after the arrival of emergency services, the second explosive was to detonate. In this way, the Russian special services planned not only to kill the maximum number of Ukrainian citizens, but also to eliminate their agents as "unnecessary witnesses"

According to the investigation, the order of the Russian Federation was carried out by two drug addicts from Poltava region: a 42-year-old man and his 30-year-old cohabitant, who were looking for money "for a dose" on Telegram channels. There they were recruited by a Russian intelligence officer, on whose instructions the couple arrived in Ternopil to prepare a terrorist attack.
After arriving in the regional center, the agents received instructions from the occupiers - to rent an apartment. There they stored two improvised explosive devices, equipped with additional striking elements in the form of nuts and electronic means of remote detonation.
The Security Service exposed the agents at the initial stage of subversive activity. After documenting their crimes, both defendants were detained while they were heading with explosives to the site of the planned terrorist attack.
SBU investigators have notified the detainees of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 2 of Art. 258 (preparation for a terrorist act);
- Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of explosives).
The perpetrators are in custody. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The SBU warns Ukrainians: Russian special services have begun to use a new tactic. They undermine their agents, use them "blindly", and then get rid of them as unnecessary witnesses.
