In Rivne region, during 17 searches related to illegal amber mining and trade, law enforcement officers seized more than 100 kg of amber and relevant equipment for its extraction.
In Rivne region, within the framework of criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal actions with amber, the following were conducted 17 searches of persons who may be involved in the illegal extraction of "sunny" stones. Investigators have established that illegal amber mining was carried out on the territory of the nature reserve fund in Sarny district. Later, the dealers transported the amber to the territory of Rivne district for further sale.
According to official information, 17 searches were conducted in the framework of the criminal proceedings in residential, non-residential premises and vehicles of persons who may be involved in the involved in these offenses.
During the searches more than 100 kg of raw amber stones of various fractions and means of its of its extraction. Also found were phones, draft records and other evidence that indicating the involvement of the defendants in the proceedings in illegal fishing.
Currently, a gemological examination has been ordered, and the issue of seizing the seized property is being decided
