A large-scale fire broke out near the village of Slobidske, Kharkiv region, due to the burning of dry grass, threatening the village and requiring more than 50 rescuers and 10 tankers to extinguish the 7-hectare blaze over 13 hours.

It is noted that yesterday, March 13, on the outskirts of the village of Slobidske, Kharkiv district, dry grass caught fire. Due to windy weather, the fire quickly spread over a large area.
Residents raised the alarm only when the fire began to approach the borders of human settlements.
By the time the rescuers arrived, the total area of the fire had already reached 7 hectares. More than 50 rescuers and 10 tankers were sent to eliminate the fire and save the village
Rescuers say that it was difficult to extinguish the fire due to strong wind gusts, swampy terrain and a large mass of dense dry vegetation and shrubs. It took more than 13 hours for the SES to eliminate it.

The SES emphasized that burning dead wood is a crime. Rescuers urge Ukrainians to call the Rescue Service at 101 as soon as they notice a fire in open areas.
