Ukraine believes that the US will not lift sanctions against Russia, but will instead take steps to strengthen them. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing, reports UNN.

When asked whether Russia could trade the lifting of sanctions in exchange for something, such as a ceasefire, Zelenskyy replied: "Russia wants this, and they emphasize it. The position of Europe is certainly important, and I am grateful that it is unconditional in its support for Ukraine. Europe will not lift sanctions. In my personal opinion, their economy is very dependent on European sanctions. We believe that the US will not lift sanctions, but will instead take steps to strengthen them."

The President stressed that the daily strikes and today's ballistic strike prove that strong sanctions steps against Putin are needed.

This will force them to stop, at least to stop the hot phase of this war - a ceasefire

- said Zelenskyy.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated today, April 4, that America has determined the time by which it wants to hear from Russia about its readiness for peace. Congress has already begun work on a bill to strengthen sanctions.

Rubio said that Ukrainians have shown their willingness to cease fire and create space for negotiations. Therefore, the US must know whether Russia is ready for peace, and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin must make this decision.
