Kremlin promotes fake news about "dangerous Ukraine and weak West" through massive campaign
Kyiv • UNN
Russian propaganda spread over eight thousand fake materials in one day. The Kremlin uses 125 resources to discredit Ukraine and divide the West.

Russian information networks have sharply increased the volume of disinformation about Ukraine, forming the majority of mentions in the international information space. This is a coordinated campaign aimed at discrediting Ukraine and its partners. This was reported by the Center for Strategic Communications, as conveyed by UNN.
Details
According to the Center, on April 7 alone, approximately 8.3 thousand materials about Ukraine appeared on about 125 FIMI resources. This is almost 2.5 times more than in about 870 legitimate media outlets. As a result, about 70% of all mentions in foreign languages are formed precisely through information interference networks.
These materials promote the same messages. In particular, Ukraine is being portrayed as a "terrorist state," a "source of instability," and a threat to other countries. Various information pretexts are used for this – from events in Russia to situations in the Baltic countries, where Ukraine is accused of striking civilians and attempting to destabilize.
In parallel, the Kremlin is spreading narratives about Ukraine's alleged "incapacity," its dependence on the West, and about a "split" in the EU and NATO. Kyiv's diplomatic initiatives are separately discredited, including the idea of an energy truce, which is presented in the context of accusations of "terrorism."
In addition, the campaign actively uses international events and statements by Western politicians to reinforce the thesis of the West's "weakness" and the alleged crisis of unity due to support for Ukraine.
Recall
Earlier, UNN reported that Russian propaganda had intensified a campaign to spread disinformation about an alleged split in NATO and the curtailment of Western support for Ukraine.
