Since the beginning of 2026, 19,700 reports of domestic violence have been recorded in Ukraine. This is a third less than in the same period last year: at the same time, according to the National Social Service Service of Ukraine, 1,103,032 reports of domestic violence were entered into the Unified State Register of Cases of Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Violence over the past 5 years. The highest number of reports this year were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Vinnytsia regions. At the same time, the situation has significantly improved in Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Lviv, and Volyn regions.
The vast majority of reports traditionally come from women - 80% of all applications. The highest share was recorded in 2022 - 83%. Over the past three years, this figure has slightly decreased and remains at 78%. 15,737 reports of violence from women were recorded this year.
In addition, there are more children among applicants. If in 2021 they accounted for only 2% of reports, now it is already 6%. Men seek help much less often than women - currently about 16% of all reports have been recorded.
