In the state of Colorado, they agreed to remove the portrait of US President Donald Trump after he criticized it on the Truth Social social network. This is reported by Independent, writes UNN.
Details
It is reported that state Democrats said that the request came from their Republican colleagues, who were apparently touched by the prose of their leader.
(Democratic) speaker and majority leader are focused on ensuring the safety of Colorado residents and reducing costs, not on hanging portraits. If the Republican Party wants to spend time and money on which portrait of Trump will hang in the Capitol, then it is their business
Republicans were not always against the portrait, which Trump found so offensive. The painting, painted in oil by Colorado artist Sarah Boardman during Trump's first term, was funded through a GoFundMe campaign organized by Republicans, was approved by the state Republican Party, and has been hanging in the Capitol's Gallery of Presidents since 2019.
Remind
On March 23, Trump wrote a post in his social network to Truth Social, with a complaint, stating that he was depicted incorrectly in the picture.
In particular, he noted that many Colorado residents turned to him, expressing dissatisfaction with the portrait.
