Four doctors in Rivne region are suspected of making fake documents to obtain disability groups. The doctors falsified medical histories and examination results to help avoid mobilization.

In the Rivne region, 4 doctors are suspected of illegally issuing disability groups. This was reported by the SBU, UNN reports.

Four more participants of a large-scale corruption scheme, consisting of 29 people, who helped men of military age to avoid mobilisation, were served with a notice of suspicion.

According to the investigation, the offenders were the head of one of the centres of the Rivne Regional Specialised Dispensary for Radiation Protection of the Population and a general practitioner of this institution, the acting head of one of the departments of the Central City Hospital in Rivne, and a neurologist of the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital.

To implement the ‘scheme’, the defendants completely falsified the medical records of the evaders, in particular, their inpatient treatment. Based on the fictitious episodes, representatives of the medical advisory commissions sent the ‘patient’ to undergo a medical and social expert commission, the statement said.

In early October, three organisers of the corruption scheme were exposed, who involved 26 healthcare workers in illegal activities. Among them was an official of the Rivne Oblast Medical and Social Expertise Centre, who was also served with a notice of suspicion of accepting an unlawful benefit.

Currently, under the procedural supervision of the Rivne Regional Prosecutor's Office, the head of one of the centres of the Rivne Regional Specialised Dispensary for Radiation Protection of the Population and the acting head of one of the departments of the Central City Hospital in Rivne were served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (‘forgery in office’).

At the same time, a neurologist of the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital and a therapist of the Rivne Regional Specialised Dispensary for Radiation Protection of the Population were also served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
